Iskandar is the new southern development corridor in Johor that has been identified as one of the catalyst developments to spur the growth of the Malaysian economy.
Iskandar covers 221,634 hectares (2,217 sq km) of land area within the southern-most part of Johor. The development region encompasses an area of about 3 times the size of Singapore. Iskandar covers the entire district of Johor Bahru (including the island within the district), Mukim Jeram Batu, Mukim Sungai Karang, Mukim Serkat and Kukup Island in Mukim Ayer Masin, all within the district of Pontian.
What are the key promoted sectors in Iskandar Malaysia?
Six service-based sectors have been identified as new pillars to strengthen existing economic sectors in the region. These will support the attainment of greater long-term growth and stability for the Iskandar economy. The six targeted service-based sectors (as identified in the Comprehensive Development Plan) are as follows:

Danga Bay - Malaysia's Premier Waterfront City
Nestled in the south-central part of Iskandar Malaysia, Danga Bay is Johor Bahru’s first and largest mixed residential-commercial development. It stretches along a 25km scenic waterfront facing the Straits of Johor and covers and area of approximately 450-acre (1.8 km2).
Offering amongst others, upscale properties, top-notch retail outlets, thrills and spills of leisure activities, an oasis for local and international food and beverage and top-draw events and activites.
Medini Iskandar
Medini Iskandar Malaysia is located within the Nusajaya development zone, flagged as Zone B under the Iskandar Malaysia development blueprint. The project covers land area of 2,300 acres (9.3 km2), it is Malaysia largest single urban development to date.
It is sub divided into three development clusters, namely Iskandar Financial District, Medini Central and Lifestyle & Leisure Cluster (Medini North & Medini South).
Puteri Harbour - the jewel of Nusajaya
This waterfront precinct, is an integrated waterfront and marina development that spans 688 acres offering a panoramic view of the Straits of Johor.
